I have done a ton of land and beach clean ups - and now that I am a diver want to participate (and organize) underwater cleanups!! I did jump in the water at the dive shop for a few pop cans and at a restaurant for a plastic hair band - but that doesn't count and a dive cleanup.
Some view Sea Shepherd with some level of controversy, but no one can argue about the incredible amount of attention they have brought to ocean issues like marine life extinction and overfishing. They have done a ton of incredible work to protect and conserve oceans and wildlife.
Been learning more about coral restoration over the past couple years since getting my PADI Open Water certification. Also on my personal bucket list to help. We saw coral bleaching on our recent trip to Honduras and were shocked at the difference in our diving experience in just one year.
After experiencing the world offshore first hand in the last couple years - I was fascinated by Blue Latitude's idea of the 'Rigs to Reefs' - not completely removing retired oil rigs and modifying them so they can continue to support marine life as an artificial reef. Love it!
We’re proud to partner with the Rozalia Project, a U.S.-based nonprofit dedicated to protecting the ocean through cleanup, research, and education.
In summer 2025, Beach Relief joined the Rozalia Project expedition to clean up remote islands along the coast of Maine, removing marine debris and supporting ocean health at its source.
We're thrilled to partner with we.grow.eco, an organization that invites us to think more critically about our relationship with(in) the environment. Through interactive science, art, and community programs, they inspire people to see how small, unified actions can spark lasting social and systemic change.
Beach Relief is excited to partner once again with Fill A Bag and activate stations in Canada! Fill A Bag aims to activate FillABag stations at beach or other paths, empowering people to ordinary walks into meaningful cleanups by providing reusable buckets to fill with trash as they walk. We’re teaming up with Horner’s Corners, local artisans who craft beautiful mats, baskets, bowls, and wreaths from reclaimed, plus wooden creations and crochet dishcloths. Together, we’re giving reclaimed rope a second life by using it to create our ultimate reusable bags and reduce waste from shore to store.
